I live in Raleigh, whose populace and roads are not very friendly to the bicyclist. So, one ends up spending a lot of time on sidewalks...which is generally faster than the roads but quite uneven. I have a Gary Fisher 29er with a front shock, and was still getting pounded on the erupting sections of sidewalk. After I installed this seat, I at first thought I had a flat tire. It really is comfortable out of the box. I have only ridden about 20 miles in the mid 40s, but in terms of initial comfort, it is everything it is claimed to be. One word of caution, in that installing this saddle is very, very difficult. Because it has 4 rails instead of 2, you will need one of those 'seat sandwich' doublers. Now the rub is that you need to squeeze the 4 rails and then tighten up the seat post bolt all at the same time...without scratching the chrome plating. The new 'microadjust' seats all have 7mm socket head bolts, which are not long enough for this seat. Guess what, only old Citroen cars have long 7mm bolts in them. And the plain top seat posts (chinese) dont fit the newer frames. So I used a long 1/4-28 grade 8 bolt that almost threads in to that cross drilled barrel nut that holds the microadjust seat on. There is a Fuel Pack that wasn't mentioned. The ECM was placed right in fron of the rear fender behind the oil tank. The seat rides great. After I didn't realize I had to much tension on the spring. The guy who made that bracket weighed a lot more than me so when I turned down the dial to my weight...oooohhh baby.. I love that adjustable shock. The coil was placed between the two rockerboxes with the ignition mounted underneath. Sorry the vid suck as it shows no justice on the paint job. Paint is still flat, but textured and with peal. It looks awsome in the sunlight. The original black denim is on hold as I am hoping to do another paint job this summer. there are no risers on the bars. Playing around on my heavily modified Squier Affinity Strat. None of the hardware is stock except for the jackplate and parts of the tremolo. It has Gotoh tuners, a roller string tree, Grpah Tech saddles, CTS/Switchcraft wiring bits, Mighty Mite P-90s, and a dummy coil system I made out of a pickup from a First Act guitar. I wired the dummy coil in parallel so it kills the noise and changes the tone when engaged, which I demonstrate in the video. I go through the neck, N + B, and bridge switch selections without then with the dummy coil. The pickups also are wired in series when both are on. I also blocked the tremolo by running a pair of bolts through the tremolo block to clamp it against the rear of the cavity, similar to the TailFeather system. It's strung with .012-.052 gauge strings in open E. I am playing it through a Boss CS-3 compressor, a Boss OD-3 overdrive, and a Line 6 Verbzilla set to the "63 Spring" mode. The amp is a new Fender Frontman 212R on the clean channel with the built in reverb off. It's mic'd with a Shure Beta 57A and recorded through my Tascam FW-1804 audio interface into my Macbook Pro using iMove (no sound processing at all, just dry signal).
